2. What You’ll Discover
From the Orientation, you will learn:
- The Tao: The natural order that governs the universe and your body
- Your Body as a Universe: Why sleep is as natural as the sun setting
- The Problem of Effort: Why trying to sleep makes you more awake
- Wu Wei (Non-Doing): How to stop fighting insomnia and allow sleep to return
- For the body: release tension instead of forcing “relaxation”
- For thoughts: let them drift like clouds ☁️
- For sleep itself: shift from “I must sleep” → “I will rest comfortably”
By the end, you’ll see that sleep is not something you achieve—it’s something you allow.
3. Your First Practice 🌿
Tonight, when you go to bed:
👉 Lie down without the goal of “falling asleep.”
👉 Breathe naturally and notice comfort in your body.
👉 Say to yourself: “I am here to rest. Sleep will come when my body is ready.”
This is the essence of Wu Wei for sleep.
